What is the COVID+ Test?
-
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends co-testing for COVID-19 and influenza if you are experiencing any symptoms of either condition. Overlapping symptoms of COVID-19 and the flu include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, and sore throat. For details visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/index.html. The GeneIQ COVID+ test detects the presence of an active COVID-19, Flu A & B and/or RSV (common cold). Symptoms of COVID-19, the flu and the common cold are often similar, making it difficult to determine what might be making you feel sick.

What will my test results tell me?
-
Your test results will confirm whether or not you are infected with SARS-CoV-2, FLUA/B and/or RSV. If your results are positive, it is important to limit your exposure to other people and to continue to monitor your symptoms. If your results are negative, the virus was not present in the sample you provided. However, it is important to note that the virus may not be detected if the sample was not collected as directed. If you have reason to believe you have been exposed, it is important to follow up with a healthcare provider for further evaluation or to get re-tested. After receiving your results, your physician of record can answer any questions you may have and help determine the next steps of care.
